Identité visuelle pour la Maison de l’Imprimerie de Bordeaux

 

Introduction & Background :

As part of a fictitious project to reopen the Maison de l’Imprimerie in Bordeaux, a complete visual identity was designed for this emblematic cultural venue. The Maison de l’Imprimerie in Bordeaux is a space dedicated to the history and techniques of printing, from ancient times to the present day. The aim was to create a logo, a graphic charter and various communication media to accompany the reopening and highlight its heritage.

 

Description of request

For this fictitious project, it was necessary to create a visual identity that was both old-fashioned and modern, reflecting the world of printing. The brief included the design of a logo, two specific typefaces, as well as media such as business cards, a bus shelter poster and a web landing page. The brief emphasised the need for graphic consistency between all the elements created, to ensure a harmonious experience for visitors and online users.

 

Direction :

To meet this demand, several steps were necessary :

  • Trend research : An in-depth study of current trends in graphic design was carried out to ensure that the visual identity was both modern and in keeping with the history of printing.
  • Creation of two typefaces using Illustrator : Development of two unique typefaces, combining old and modern elements, evoking the different styles of lettering used in printing.
  • Design of the logo and graphic charter with Illustrator : Creation of a distinctive logo representing the essence of La Maison de l’Imprimerie, as well as a detailed graphic charter to ensure visual consistency.
  • Creation of communication media : Design of business cards to highlight the visual identity, as well as a striking bus shelter poster to promote the reopening.
  • Creation of the landing page using WordPress : Development of an attractive and functional landing page on WordPress, offering visitors an immersive first impression of the Maison de l’Imprimerie.

Thanks to a creative and methodical approach, the visual identity designed for the Maison de l’Imprimerie in Bordeaux offers a coherent and immersive experience, testifying to its rich history and commitment to the graphic arts.
